The three collages above were created by Lindsay Barrie in 2004 reflecting the way that he feels about the current state of the world that we live in.We live a very fragile existence which should never be taken for granted.Is mankind actually capable of providing the answers that can resolve the worlds problems?The "dream wall" above shows a child trapped in stone forever, surrounded with timeless history,looking up and trying to see a way of escaping from the evil man in the bottom corner who is blind,laughing and cannot see the plight of the child.This man represents the artists deepest fear for humanity as he hides in the darkness and only hears what he wants to hear.The other two collages hopefully speak for themselves!

(The photograph below was taken by award winning photojournalist Heidi Bradner ..Heidi Bradner was born and raised in Alaska. She has been working as a international photojournalist since 1991, when she moved to Russia and began covering the collapse of the former USSR, including the Karabakh, Abkhazian and Chechen wars. Her work documenting the conflict in Chechnya was awarded the Leica Medal of Excellence. Her long-term project about the life of the Nenets in the Siberian Arctic was awarded a World Press Photo Award in 2003. Other work has appeared in Granta, Le Monde, National Geographic and the New York Times Magazine. A retrospective of her work on Chechnya (Europe’s longest running but least visible and most forgotten war)was held at the prestiguous Visa Pour L' image festival in Perpignan, France in 2005.Her most recent trip to Chechnya was in July 2005.This was to complete her project about the effect of ten years of war.Heidi is a contributor to Panos Pictures Agency where you can see more of Heidi's brillant photographs.......Panos Picture agency is a London-based independent photo agency representing photojournalists worldwide. The first aid workers to return to Biaro camp encountered appalling misery. Refugees who had survived the rebel massacres slowly returned from the forest to the camp. Unaccompanied children who had lain unattended in the makeshift orphanages for more than a week were cared for by local and foreign aid workers. Some of Andrzejs photographs like the one presented above undergo a specific hand-made digital manipulation which, apart from some straightforward color manipulations and tone filtering, does NOT involve any automatic digital filters. Such manipulation is a modern substitute for the combination of an old-fashioned classical dye-and-brush painting, as well as dark room photographic techniques. Hence the oil-painting mood and a characteristic, artificial contrast present at some of works.Creating new illumination with this kind of retouch is, by the way, also another example of classical ‘painting with light’ techniques used by some photographers.
